wish me luck....

I just emailed in 2 layouts for submissions to try out for DT (design team) for My Sketch World *gulp* first time in years to try out, have never been 'cutting edge' enough to make a DT before, this one DT has a wide range of skills & supplies used so hoping I can fill a spot, if not, I will go back to just scrapping on my own... if I make it, there will be a lot more scrapping in this little space ;)
here are 2 older 12x12 pages designed this summer from our February hog hunt trip.  I don't usually let myself scrap such recent photos in anything but a mini-album but having just finished the mini, I decided to quickly put the rest of them on 12x12s & call it good.  these are using a mix of really old & new supplies.  for example: all of the papers on both are from the very first kit I ever ordered online.

Here is a series of shots to give you an idea of what my desk chaos usually looks like when I am working on a project.  I work best when everything is at my fingertips, I am lazy & if I have to get up to get something to use, I will do without.
<~~ is the view to my right (holding the camera over my head)
<~~~~ is to my left (holding it at my eye level)
 <~~~~ & a bird's eye view...

yea its a little crazy/overflowing/overwhelming sometimes & crowded all the time but I am making it work while dreaming of 'the perfect scraproom' to have some day.. you know, when I get paid to scrap--HA!

so there you go, a quick peek into my scrap room & at some old pages.  I did create 6 others over the weekend that I CAN share, so hopefully I will get them photographed tonight to share tomorrow.

Happy Hump Day!!!

YAY WEDNESDAY!!!!!!

the past 2 days have been light kid days! Monday meant I got some extra laundry & cleaning done while they played or napped.  Tuesday meant I was able to work on editing all crop forms over from the spring PTCO crop to the fall Scrap Pink crop! & to be sure that no one is wondering what I did w/the kids during all of this time, they did eat their regularly scheduled meals & snacks, played w/play dough, danced to 3 music cds, & did yoga! :)   today I will have about 8 kids & a helper so hopefully the weather will stay dry so we can WALK!!! PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAASE let it stay dry for this morning at least!! tomorrow we are hoping to visit the county fair grounds & then field trip Friday is to the animal shelter!  our summer is definitely busy!

Yesterday I went the farmer's market & spent the most I have spent this year.  I spent $17. I got a pound of roma tomatoes & 3 big ones, a green pepper, a dozen ears of peaches & cream, a splurge of a plate of snickerdoodle cookies & 2 really long skinny burp less cucumbers.  it sure didn't feel like much but those tomatoes really add up :)

the running & eating right combined to the water consistency intake has been good to me!! I am finally seeing a drop on weigh in day (usually my drop is over the weekend then Monday morning I gain it all back & it stays thru the week). I am giddy that I am down 10 since April 1!!  tonight is running night & I actually look fwd to it!

WOW it took a while to get this weekend figured out!! our normal lake is 1 foot under emergency flood level so we  checked into a different lake, going online we finally figured out that they only had one reservable campsite left near a boat ramp. SOOOO after a semi-conference call(I called Lauren who was in the same room as Hupp who was on the phone w/Nick)  & decided to go back to ole reliable & if we can boat -great- & if not we will find other ways to amuse ourselves :) trails, playgrounds, water park, water play on closed boat ramps, shopping, sounds pretty relaxing to me!!! Now we just need to get thru the week!!! OH & find some dry firewood to take LOL

back in the scrap room last night! WOW that felt good!! I even thought about finishing the project from April that's been laying unfinished. but I was too busy settling the weekend plans  to focus.  Maybe tonight after running, supper, & loading wood.

Ah Ha! Friday!

I've been patiently waiting your arrival :) So happy to see you made it! this weekend starts off a string of busy ones -again. not sure how to work it all in together so we'll go w/a list of randoms today:
  • today's FLY mission: Zone 3: Mission #5 Friday Dear Friends:We are in the last day of Zone Three!! Your mission in the bathroom is to mop the floor. Now, you can do this with some hot soapy water and a rag or mop. There is no perfect way to mop. Just get the floor wet, wipe it and dry it!For the kids room - Do or teach the Hot Spot Fire Drill!! Loo kin your children's room and find the one spot that seems to be the dumping area. This could be the desk, night stand or top of the dresser. Once again use this as a teaching moment - not a battle! Have patience and keep in mind that they can't read your mind! No Kids? Pick a room of your choice and head in for another 27 boogie! Grab the bag and dash through the room tossing 27 items that can go far away from your house! Get the "stuff" that is taking up space out of there!Love,Kelly
  • How did you do on yesterday's missions? I did scrub the cc bathroom sink & decluttered the shelf -luckily the upstairs one will just need a wiping when I go to mop it today :)
  • Yesterday I took 5 or 6 bites of time to decorate the house w/fall/Halloween decorations from my 3 totes. I did not use it all this yr. went more fall than Halloween-I do that sometimes. its ok not to do it perfectly every year :)
  • I spent another hour or so in my scrap room last night moving things around, sorting & pitching!! then ended up w/a pile of Christmas/winter items to pack tonight to take tomorrow. YAY!!!
  • for our household, this weekend includes: deer hunting (muzzleloader), scrapbooking (skate park fundraiser), 4y/o bday party, Pampered Chef party @ Nicki's, & hopefully some rest. the good thing is that the grocery shopping is complete & the house is getting cleaner.
  • over the next few weeks we have: hunting, Saw 6, Race for the Cure, our Pampered Chef party, dental appointments, At Home American party, Halloween parties, child care training, wine walk, closing party for our favorite bar, Tastefully Simple party, another Crop, Thanksgiving! SERIOUSLY BUSY for the next 6 week ends.
  • I am attempting to work today w/o my ankle brace! wish me luck :)

how's that for some serious randomness?? LOL
I hope you have a GREAT DAY & WEEKEND!!!

Wow its Thursday :)

this house is sure shaping up after a week of sporadically placed baby steps! Thank goodness! :) I skipped the Fly mission for yesterday but worked for an hour in my Scrap room last night & was ruthless.. filled a grocery sack of garbage & one of donations! :) there's also a pile for child care & a pile for recycling. I've kept up on laundry-even if it means putting the baskets on the bed then making myself put them away b4 getting into bed. Hey-its working for me & only taking a few minutes. So how are you doing???

today's mission is:

Zone 3: Mission #4 Thursday
Dear Friends:The bathroom sink is calling you! Let's shine our bathroom sinks and counter tops. Scrub the sink and the faucets, wipe down with Windex(remember to be careful that you are not mixing Windex with any bleach products, make sure you rinse very well before using the Windex). Take time to wipe down your counter tops and give them a shine as well.

For the kids room - get a damp cloth and wipe off the finger prints from the light switch plates, door and door knobs. If your child is old enough show them how to do this and let them! It does not have to be perfect. Remember if you make cleaning something negative they will always think of cleaning up as something terrible and that they never did it right!

No Kids? Pick a room of your choice and do one more Hot Spot fire drill. Get in there and put out the heat!

These I will do today!! Then tonight I will focus on packing for the crop I am going to on Saturday :) whohoooooooo getting started on that December Daily! Ok hot breakfast ready, coffee ingested, here we go!!

T.G.I.F.

I AM READY FOR THE WEEKEND!!!!! the sun will come up b4 Me!!! yahoooooo

finished painting the white walls last night YAHOOOOOOO Mom loves me & volunteered to paint my ceiling for me this weekend after seeing the serious yellowness of it. Tim & I even took a walk in the middle ofmy painting!

my weekend plans are totally weather dependant!
tonight either helping mom paint my ceiling or helping Tim start to sort/clean out old house garage.
tomorrow up & hitting the local businesses again to finalize/collect some door prizes for SP, then home to either help do fence or back to the garage then start moving rooms
Sunday finishing whatever project was started on Saturday & hopefully finish moving or helping Tim build my new desk.

I really wanted to go to bike night tonight (mainly for the food) but it rained so much this morning I imagine it will be a swampy mess & I don't think I am in the mood for fighting that!

I am so proud of me!!

Last night I had to run Tim around delivering a truck & getting a different one & in the middle we stopped @ walmart for cat food + to get my white paint shaken. as soon as we got home & He started grilling, I went straight to my room & did all of the touch up painting on teh dark wall! THEN as sooon as we were done eating (yup skipped kitchen clean up last night) I went right back in & started mixing paint for a lighter shade.. after 3 test slops I found one I loved. its almost a light purple not quiete lavendar as I found the paint chip (I Think) @ walmart last night & believe it to be Rum Raisin. painted a whole big wall + some jar lids+a mini muffin tin+ outlet cover for the dark wall all in the light paint. also took down the curtain/rod +folded up the bowflex PROGRESS ROCKS!!!

Tonight I plan to do the 2nd coat on everything light & decide if I need 2 or if one white wall will be enough & start painting another wall. lots of GO power for tonight!!

we are excited w/my progress & think we might be able to do teh room swap Friday evening then take off & on all weekend + next week evenings to unpack!! WHOHOOO

fence photos as promised.

HERE'S the back side of the yard.. it was just TIM & I so there was very little physical labor available (b/c I am a wuss) so we stair-stepped the panels. WAY EASIER than the south side!!

this is the south side of the yard.. they dug 18" @ the deepest to keep it all level TOO MUCH WORK!!

this is the fence that Jeff & I put up picket by picket b/c the incline was too steep to do panels.

ahhhhhhhh & my completed scrap wall.. note its a small one.. the ceiling is actually white tho it looks almond, the other 3 walls are BLUE that you see in the top corner. so it took 2 coats & I found some spots being in there in the daylight just now that need touched up.
