February Snow

some shots of our snow from the last 2 weeks.. one was way over predicted then very little fell & the opposite happend the following week :)  in all we ended up w/quite a bit & it was lovely, now I am ready for spring!! :)

 

These photos give an idea of how it built up over the few days of the big snow.. I may do another post of photos of JUST the deep stuff :)

 

 

 

Dogs + Snow

Saturday the sun came out for the first in what felt like a week so I took the dogs to the other property for some more room to run.  This is usually Tim's treat for them but he was still in Oklahoma on his guys' weekend hot hunt & they needed to burn some energy. I was sooooooo glad I went, it was awesome to get out, get some fresh air & soak up some sunshine.  I should remember (but I don't) how much I love getting out, how much better I feel & how calming it is for my soul & just go every chance I get. Sometimes that first step is the hardest.

then we came home & snuggled on the couch :)

Ready.

I am ready.
Ready for spring!

 

Ready for fresh flowers in the yard, green grass, the smell of freshly mowed grass coming thru the open windows, the curtains fluttering in the breeze around said window, tending the new garden & then eating its produce, the farmer's market, & the lack of snow gear needed by the kids. 

I am ready to not need 2 shirts on every day, to not need hot tea in my hands each morning, to not be able to see my breath when I go outside, & to not crave big hardy meals every night. 

I am ready to be able to spend the 4 hours between breakfast & lunch outside, and then the 2 hours between snack & the end of the work day back out there again. 

I am ready to pack away the ice melt & boot trays from the entry way, I am ready to not need to mop that floor several times each day, I am ready to be soaking up some stinking sunshine, man! 

I am ready for camping weekends spent on the lake & gathered round the campfire in the evenings, I am ready to be able to smell the sunshine long after its set.

a slow goin' monday

Which works out really well coming off of a long vacation weekend. :)

for the past few years we've taken a weekend away in February to celebrate our birthdays & valentine's instead of trying to shop for each other so soon after Christmas. Its the perfect time for us after the hoidays & before boating season in May. This year we decided to go to the lake we boat on & stay in the cabins we stayed in last Memorial weekend.

We both took Friday off from work to sleep in abit, then we grabbed a pizza on our way & settled into our cabin "Sailing Away". We ventured into Centerville in the late afternoon/early evening to scope it out. Tho we've been to town often while camping, we've never gone past O'Reilly Auto Parts or Wal-Mart. But Sadly I didn't take very many photos @ all. None while driving around town or even on Saturday while we were shopping @ Bradley Hall. which was SUPER COOL & WE ARE going back!!!

When we went back to the cabin for the afternoon, I dipped strawberries in chocolate-the stinking easiest thing I have ever done! yummmm & scrapped 3 pages of the '07 ice storm(almost done w/that chapter!!) while Tim napped.

Later in the evening, Hupp & Lauren moved into the cabin next to us & after getting Jack settled, we all went out. We ate supper

Restaurant then bar hopped around the lake. Hitting Dogg's, The Ole' Red Barn & finally Krazy Connie's Landing for some awesome Sloe Gin Fizzes! :)

When we woke up yesterday it was like living in a snowglobe! so much snow!! so we cleaned our cabin & went to Hupp & Lauren's cabin for breakfast. mmmmmm so cozy to sit & chat w/mimosas & the guys cooking breakfast!!! awesome morning! the ride home was yucky until about 1/2 way then it got better.

as wonderful as it is to GO away, its

always Wonderful to come home!! :)

Monday Mantra: Keep it going.

Monday Randomness first:

• I am in BOTH tennis shoes today. first work day in 2 weeks! we'll see how the PF fairs! Maybe I'll be on the treadmill by the weekend :) I know I am going after some Sketchers this weekend for new work shoes. Never had problems w/them. going back. no longer invincible & admitting it. LOL
• Woke to 3" of snow on the ground this morning.. whaaaaaat?! was expecting flurries-skiff-no collection. *sigh* more snow. atleast its not ice! :)
• Laundry is going
• I am almost thru my first 32oz of water today!
• Need to bake bread! Honey wheat sounds yummy.
• tore a pancake in 1/2, fried an egg & made a sandwich for breakfast YUMMMM
• Keep it going: I drank 96oz/day every day since my dr appt 2 weeks ago-until Saturday- & lost 8lbs b/c of it! Friday I fought a headache so miserable I wanted to rip the right eyeball from my head & throw it across the room. Saturday woke the same. so spent the day in turmoil. only did 32oz in before we went out w/the gang. then split 2 pitchers of beer w/Tim b4 I switched back to water. amazingly woke yesterday in considerably less pain. should have been more but who am I to complain!? I got the 96 in yesterday & am wall on my way today. as a reward I getting myself a 'spread love' bottle when the food check comes this week. SO I need to Keep it Going on the water :)

We have listened to every Christmas CD twice.
we baked & delivered to the neigbors.
there are gifts under the tree.
we've watched every movie in the collection atleast once.
