Frugal Tip Tuesday-couponing w/sales

bargain shopping report for this week:

1. we do as much as possible of our grocery shopping once a week, sometime over the weekend.
2. we combine childcare & home groceries at the time of purchase, divide them when we get home between the 2 kitchens.
3. we are getting back into couponing & stocking up by stacking sales+coupons.
4. our coupon percentage is going up the more I learn.
5. I am taking a break from making our dishwasher & laundry detergents.

this week we got:
36 items but I will only list the sale/coupon ones to try to keep it from being too boring ;)

1. cascade d/w pacs 5.99 on sale - .75 p&g coupon--for childcare
2. bounty select a size paper towels 2.19-.25 coupon--for childcare
3. bounty regular paper towel .99-.25 coupon --for home
4. 4 varieties of chex cereal - 2.25 each on sale-2.25 Fareway coupon-$4 HyVee coupon-2x1.10 manufacture coupons making them .14 EACH :D best score!--for chex mix, puppy chow, trail mixes for both home & childcare
5. 2-12 oz fastco cottage cheese on sale 1.28--for childcare
6. 3 Mrs Grimes Chili beans on sale .58 each--for home
7. Durracell batteries 3.59+.75 coupon--for home
8. 4 meat counter boneless skinless chicken breasts 1.79/# --2 for each kitchen
9. 2 purina dog treats 3.28+3.39 -$1 coupon--for home
10. betty crocker 10# potatoes on sale 1.99--for both kitchens
11. 2 pillsbury brownie mixes on sale 1.67--for home

Whata weekend!!

not quite ready for Monday but since I don't have a choice here we go!! :)

here are photos of Philip on Saturday. He is recovering @ warp speed! the only complaint he had yesterday morning was they were waking him every 1.5 hr for more meds & he wasn't in pain until they administered them. poor guy!

we spent the weekend busy busy busy... Saturday we did the Des Moines Farmer's Market, visited Philip in the hospital, got me these shoes, picked up an arbor for the wisteria vine, & finished cleaning the vinyl in the boat & it is now lake ready :) Sunday we spent outside!! Tim painted the end of the house where the chimney was removed, I worked on this gate for a new flower bed, painted a chair & picture frame, he mowed the Ayers Lot, we installed the arbor & we helped Gus thru a long seizure. He used to have seizures quite a bit, then we put him back on his boring treats & he quit. Well, he had one yesterday, the first in 5 yrs & it was long & horrible. but w/in an hr & half after, he was back to normal. We even attempted to take him on our normal walk but we got rained out.

So here's to a more laid back, relaxing sorta day :)

so happy that happy doesn't explain it, elated, spastic, giddy.... nope still not doing it justice LOL
lets just get it over-with already!

weekend plans first: fundraiser tonight, cpr/first aid class tomorrow, kitchen planning tomorrow nght, birthday partying Sunday.

goodness list... hmmmmmmmmm great idea (plus it puts me in the drawing for some COOOO-OOO-OOOL ART!!! ROCK ON!!

• I am NOT a game-system-fan HOWEVER I have love love loved the idea of the Wii since it came out!! wanted one & decided that one day we would own one.. after all Tim is a game system fan, has been thru several PS2s so why would he bawlk @ a new toy?? SO we got our own Christmas gift early this year-a Wii!! whohooooooooo so we love the games it came w/(I beat him in a lot the first night SHOCKED US BOTH!!) & we have gotten a couple of other new games since. I just love that its so action packed! there is very little sitting & NO sitting to play!!! I am not a push a button to make a person jump kinda girl, nope I was playign the atari & PS w/the controller up in the air & myself leaning in the direction my little dude needed to go ANYWAY.. I am just thankful nintendo finally caught up w/those of us that played that way!! ;) SOOOOOOOOOOOO I am hoping for a Wii Fit soon!
• I'd also love to get some new lit. this would be great!!
• Tim always wants some Monte Carlo parts for the 72 in the garage. (his is like the purple one in the picture only a deeper color) :)
• all of the little people on our shopping list are getting miniature travel size versions of these this year!
• Mom wants one of these--I am so for getting it for her then she'll be excited again & can help me get started!!! :D (selfish I KNOW!!!)
• One brother & his family needs a new one of these so I think the other brother & I are getting it for them!
• our house could use some decorating!!! would love love love some of this or this or my photos made like this
• cannot wait to get our photos taken by BECKY next fall!!!
• one of my favorite gifts every year is a subscription to the local newspaper!!
• OH this reminds me I need to call & order the GC to the restarant for our camp attendants @ the lake!!

wow this is a long a$$ entry.. sorry folks.. I got a bit carried away LOL but I feel so organized now :D
