2012 wedding (scrap pages)

Scrapping wedding photos has always been touchy for me.  Will I be able to do them justice, will I ruin one getting it ready, will I regret gluing them down? With the digital age, I am totally getting over all but the first one.  I guess with the streak I have been on lately, I am pretty much even getting over the first one too.  Another photo heavy post ahead!

This page totally fell together with the 'leftovers' from the other pages.  I loooooooved this photo from their photographer but didn't get it worked in anywhere else, I knew I wanted to use their wedding ceremony programs and there was this extra napkin. They all looked great on that black dictionary type paper and there was that strip of camo fabric laying on my desk from Tim's Christmas gift 2013 that went perfect with their theme so the opening page was created last but its one of my faves!

The rehearsal night, not a lot to document but document I did.  the photo of the couple & minister flips up to reveal a photo of the shredded beef we served with the journaling the photo and the details of the rehearsal evening attached to the page.

I had a LOT of prep photos as I had been invited to hang out with them for the morning, but I narrowed it down to these 6 to make a giant collage for the page.  I love the outcome.

I needed to scrap each of these but they didn't all need their own page, so frustrated at the end of a session I threw them in a pile on that dark brown paper. The next session, I found them all there & really liked them all together on it & a page was created.

  Photographer's photos as the wedding party entered the reception hall.  They have an amazing group of friends that step up when they are needed & offer the shirts off their backs. Absolutely heartwarming to witness this group of 'kids' become adults.

The page on the left is glittered paper *gasp* I can't say I never use glitter now, but most of it is covered, holding it together. the one of the right is another fave! the background paper, the acrylic overlay w/the bead stickers on top. super simple, yet elegant.


And that my friends, is my little brother's wedding chapter.  After that, I completed a Labor Day Weekend chapter but not sure I will share all of them or if I will just highlight my faves.  What do you think? want to see all 6-10 pages or just a couple? None of them are photographed at this point so whatever you want will be done.  :)

another scrap page

Remember last week I posted this page?

I loved it so much & knew there would only be one more page to finish that chapter, so Thursday night I got right to work on the coordinating page.  I love this one too! 

More old tags, 'm', buttons & arrow.  That music paper is just a strip left over from another page but fit perfectly there, the guitar is a Cricut cut along w/the big music notes, the '!' is from an old brad set and the old Creative Memories music note stickers.  

I sorted through a pile of pictures from Labor Day 2010 to work on next.  I narrowed it down to about 6 pages, I'd like to see if I can complete that chapter before the crop on Saturday.

5 on Friday: Scrap news

Remember yesterday, I talked about having completed a wedding chapter? Well, here are the final pages of that chapter & they are some of my favorites EVER. Sorry the photos aren't very good, I was holding the phone over my head over the layout on my desk, with no intentions of ever sharing them past an email share, I wasn't being very particular, I will change that starting NOW. 

1. This one took me out of my box w/the bundle of tulle, a corsage pin holding the 'B' on it & the shaped paper. Actually, I don't think this is the photo of the final product, I think this was a spot I was stuck on, but you get the idea for now. By far, one of my prettiest pages.

2. These 3 photos could have easily held their own layout but I was ready to wrap up the chapter so I put them all on one & plan to do some heavy journaling for each & include it in a flip flap when the page is in an album. So much old stuff here paired with Cricut cuts and matting, nothing spectacular but I am especially happy with it.

3. Yikes, this one blurry w/a capital B--so sorry!!  I love this one as it highlights the friendship they have w/their group. lots of Cricut die cuts, old stickers and paper.  I think this is the page I finished off those plastic coated heart clips I have been using sparingly for 10 years :)

 

4. The first dance + mixed drinks on an empty tummy+ the adrenaline wearing off= emotional bride & I needed to capture it.  More really old stuff used AND I used GLITTER paper as the background. Anyone who has scrapped with me knows my serious aversion to anything glittery, but this was the perfect paper to use on these photos, so I went delicately & yet, still ended up coated in glitter myself. YACK! The hearts w/the initials on them are CTMH, the last 2 square clips, the last of the plastic slides in that color & more Cricut cuts. 

5. Not having been to Hobby Lobby in several months, I treated myself with some birthday money last weekend.  I was on the hunt for fun things to use in my mini album showcasing my surprise 40th birthday party last month.  The pile of Gemstones to the left are for my Grandma to use on her heritage pages & were all half off, she loves the bling! The envies are to finish mailing my thank you notes.  The purple letters & trims  and the metal 'K' are for the mini.  The white thickers are in my favorite font, I just wish I could find them in other colors.  The white thread is crochet thread I have seen a few girls using on YouTube videos to tie up their buttons & I needed it.  An X adhesive refill, 3 shaped clips (you know, because I finished off a few others last week..) that were on sale; boat anchors in red & blue, dog bones in silver & brown, arrows in pink & teal.  3 spools of ribbon; pink & purple for the mini album & the pink zebra for my cousin's graduation reception pages.  That leaves the Studio Calico wooden letters that I ab.so.lute.ly. love! 

I am so very grateful for my renewed energy for scrapping.  I have been booking through some serious pages the past year.  I have a crop next weekend (the 14th) that I plan to do my mini album at and then my husband is going on a hunting trip the following weekend (19th-22nd) so I plan to move the piles of pages from the scraproom closet to the dining table to see how many I can get into sleeves & their forever appropriate albums.  So there are a couple more scrappy posts coming this month! 

'friends' scrap page

Getting a ton of scrapping done this winter!  I finished my December Daily at the weekend crop in January, then started on a bachelorette party & wedding weekend 2012 that took me about a month, finishing that and gearing up to scrap my surprise party in a mini album, I pulled photos from an anniversary dinner/concert 2012 to do 'quickly' (to not have an in progress project on my table when I bring home the unfinished mini album from the crop next weekend) Much to my surprise, this set of concert photos is going much quicker than normal (YAY!)

I put this one together last night, then this morning I found out that it may qualify as an entry in Scrap Our Stash March Challenge! So here you go:

December Daily-complete!

ahh I love the feeling of a completed project... a clean room, a chapter of photos scrapped, a completed mini album, a craft project on the wall, a recipe tried... whatever it may be, I love a completed project.  I am not so great on the follow thru on most things so I rarely get to see an end but the December Daily 2012 is COMPLETE!!!! YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!

oh btw, this will be very photo heavy!! I still won't burden you w/the whole book since blogger is being a pain & won't let me shrink the second half of the photos...

18. Elementary Christmas program #2, this time I included the program, photo collage & single photo of the neices in it. got to use up some more old eyelets. 17.  The day my camera returned from the shop :)  & the first series of photos I took that I printed into a collage & hung one on the wall for the childcare & sent one home w/each of them their parents tell me they talk about it all the time. it really is the little things sometimes.

 

21.  out of order but I am tired of fighting w/blogspot so jsut going to go w/it :) LOVE these 'icicle letters' on this page! SNOW DAY= sledding!!!

13. our Christmas card we sent, a photo of the supplies needed.

14. our girls' shopping day, my annual starbucks cup wrapper & the photo collage. 11. I was absolutely giddy when I discovered this JOY chipboard in the donation pile after Scrap Pink! even more giddy when I realized it would fit on a page in here!  covered it w/December details but now wish I had left it plain :) you'll have that sometimes!!  the other side is just a photo & story of the shelf I use as a mantel.

6&7. no photo but used the note off the FFA fruit box & Kora became ours officially on the 7th. Loved using that line of buttons on the bottom.

 

opening page.  I like to use the calendar as the opening  or cover page for my DDs.  this JOY journaling page was great to help me kick of my check list of what I wanted to be sure to document.

I was horrible about getting some photos taken, I definitely was 'in' many of the moments therefore spaced off photographing them..
