today's field trip!

ugh

so its Tuesday... I feel like I've been hit by a bus. better than last night when it was a train. so atleast its an improvement!



I ended my workday w/a headache-not unusual in the past few weeks -I have ended more days w/one than w/o! so I just went on w/my evening. fixed chili+cheese brats on the foreman, we ate, Tim piped in the toilet, went out to mow, I applied the sealer to the floor grout, assembled one tiki torch, went back to apply layer 2, noticed my headache was getting worse & I was starting to feel queasy-too late to take anything w/o guaranteeing a sessing infront of the toilet. so I plugged away, hung a small bunting under the mailbox out front, assembled 2nd tiki torch, started to rearrange my party lights on the deck & Tim was mowing &hollered up to see if I'd scrub down the toilet &scrap the old caulk from the bottom of it (since it was on the deck & by the time he was done, he'd be ready for it), so I stopped the light festivities & started scrubbing... it took alot longer than either of us thought so he installed the cabinet, sink, counter :) yummmy!! then when I was finally done w/the toilet I was so weak I went to the couch & crashed. he needed help 2x & on my way in the 2nd time, I took my blanket. & ended up passing out on the new tile floor LOL clear up until I woke up to use to the newly insalled & thankfully clean toilet :( yup I got rid of all my supper @ once so then I went to the living room floor not sure if I was having what he had on Saturday (he didn't throw up but reallllllly wanted to) or if it was jsut migraine sick. so I slept there for another hour & woke to shower in the NEW TUB :) can't wait for tonight & enjoy it all LOL


I am truely impressed (?) w/bulemics! (sp?) b/c all I did was throw up once & I am still weak this morning.

YAY!!

FOR MONDAY!!! I am ready for today so I can take a break from the work I did this weekend!! I won't bore you w/the detailed list but will instead just tell you the general.

• all shower wall tiles are clean, grout is sealed, siliconed & faucet installed
• medicine cabinets installed
• kitchen is cleaned top to bottom
• new kitchen curtains washed & hung
• photos added & new frames hung on photo wall
• tiki torches, party lights +drop cord bought
• I got 96oz in one day & 64 the other, only ate 1/2 my TCBY ice cream & froze the other 1/2 for later, got 2or3 f/v depending on the day & 2 dairy daily. not bad for a weekend!
• have a list & half for tonight! ugh.

today I plan to enjoy being @ work w/o alot of 'requirements' on my time :) (never thought I'd say that LOL) -meals, walk, back yard play. it honestly doesn't get much simpler than that :)

for Do-it-yourself tiling: HIRE IT DONE! eeek.. my right arm is killing me from all the scrubbing .. being the clean up crew sux!

Bathroom progress this week: walls grouted & floor tiled :) Medicine cabinets to be hung, cabinet & toilet to be set, floor to be grouted & cleaned, walls to be cleaned, tub motor to be reinstalled, trim hung, faucets installed

weekend plans: finish bathroom & work on cleaning house.(I won't bore you w/my over organizing detailed list-just know I want to get more done than normal since we are having house guests for 10 days & hosting my family BBQ after the parade on the 4th)

since I haven't done them in a while:

APPRECIATE: I appreciate having the financial ability(ha-credit) to do the remodel. I appreciate that Tim wants it done b4 they arrive as much as I do. I appreciate that he took a break from his tunnel vision of it to till the front flower bed for me last night. (even if that means he now wants to rake it a certain way b4 I put the barrier down OYE)

ACCOUNTABILITY: I am averaging 64oz, 3 f/v, 2dairy daily. I am watching my carbs & sweets. but I am not moving more than necessary :( absolutely no excuses about being too busy!

sorry for the lack of posting! this morning flew past.. then we went outside when the first visitor arrived to finalize my QRS level 3 application for 2008 paperwork, Suzanna took 3 to the library, 2 went to swimming lessons, when they all started to return & the visitor left, it was time to come in to fix, serve & clean up lunch AND lay down for quiet time. Then visitor #2 came & did step #2 in my QRS level 4 application for 2009 paperwork!! whew. (if you reallllllllllly want to know all that goes into it, you can click on 'home chart' & get a .PDF file that tells a smidgen of it)

WOW!

I also came up w/a make shift schedule of the 'b4 the company comes' list. I feel way better now. gosh I wish I had some interesting photos to share but I don't. .. sorry! maybe tomorrow as tonight we are going to Lyndsey's last ball game (a niece) & working on grouting the rest of the shower walls!!!!!! way excited about that! :)

ok.. off to find something to serve for snack!

how do YOU shake the grumpies??! whether from yourself or those surrounding you?

I can usually shake the kids out of em (or vise versa) by being goofy, snuggling or treating to some yummy nummies.

b.u.t. shaking them from myself.. a LOT harder! I woke up grumpy today, tried w/all my might to be better but it just seemed that everyone/thing was against me & the kids were whiney, fighting & I am quick to snap. I HATE ME THIS WAY! they can't possibly enjoy it here. thank goodness I have Suzanna!! she's been great today!

things I have tried today:
*dancing w/them while I was making lunch & they were teaching Suzanna about our music collection
* laughing every chance I got
*letting them play in the puddles in teh back yard (after trying to keep them out for the first hour)
*pulling out the bubbles (built in laundry soap) to play in b4 coming in for lunch
*getting all into clean dry clothes & doing laundry (I know its crazy but sometimes it will bring me from a funk to do laundry start to finish)
*went up & admired the wall Tim grouted today after his court -its GORGEOUS!!!
*He brought back good news from court-charges dropped w/a $60 court cost fine. NO problem!
*my food check even came but that amt of money didn't even cheer me up
*stole the last hershey bar from the freezer meant for camping smores but it will be another month b4 it will be needed so who cares!
*typing this is helping some!
*thinking about the frappuccino I am having Tim get me on his next trip to town
*I really think that I am due some creative time in my room tonight -I will work some deals!
#1. w/Tim abt how much to help him w/in the bathroom (he's tiling the floor now)
#2. w/myself & that pesky 'b4 the company comes' list
then when goals are met -I will hibernate in my room!

today my numbers are down so I plan to pull in those decorations I have been talking about all week, planting the last seed blanket, adding water to the cc fish tank, along w/my regular daily tasks.

our weekend plans are pretty basic:

tonight depends on how Tim's day goes. after out in the heat digging yday he wasn't feeling like bathroom work last night so we will c how today goes whether we get back to it or wait till morning.

tomorrow I have a list of errands I would like to run since we are local (instead of @ the lake) but we will c how early he gets started on the bathroom. while we are working on the bathroom I also plan to knock out some of my 'b4 the company arrives' to do list :)

Sunday -more bathroom (hopefully finishing up tiling the walls atleast) & we have a list of errands we need to run in DM (pick up my wedding set FOR SHORE!!) I can't wait to share pix of the tiled bathroom!! :)

& slept right thru a tornado warning we did!!! YIKES! I was so tired from the week & he was tired from frustration of the bathroom not going as planned that when we crashed, we stayed that way until the alarm clock went off this morning! I am still tired today.. going to have to venture up for a glass of Iced tea for the day!!

I didn't check anything off my lists yesterday. just finalized the movie day, hung out w/the kids, ate supper w/my hubby & went to provider appreciation night for 'build your own sundaes'. OH wait! I did get one 'seed blanket' planted!!! & some seeds behind it as it was WAY smaller than I had dreamed! (could have put them both together-just may alter my plans & DO THAT! then cover the front bed in the weedguard + red mulch! hmmmmmmmmm ANYTHING IS BETTER than the weed patch we have happenin' up there now.

I'd really like to snag the decoration tote from the garage today. Logically i should clean b4 I decorate but maybe getting them in here & out & about will boost me to get moving on the cleaning.... we have 2 gone today, a drop in here this afternoon, Suzanna is taking 3 to the library story hour this morning on the trolley, I have some paperwork to catch up on, so the decorations just might take a back seat another day or 2. bummer. We achieved @ staying busy this summer! :) We r Lovin' it!

• Yesterday, we got almost to the elementary school playground & it started drizzling & continued for the whole 2 hrs! lol ... we played, picnic'd & walked home in it. they all got to change clothes when they got back & slept really well :D
• During that quiet time I got a wild hair & went to work setting up a morning movie time @ the Lyric Theater here in town! I then started calling around to other providers & the local child care center & then advertized on Facebook to be sure I get my 25 minimum to qualify for the pkg deal. ($5 for ticket, small pop, small popcorn!) I had no idea it was so easy!!! I will definately stay on top of new releases & try to set something like this up more often!!
• Tim worked in the bathroom assembling & installing the tub/shower valve & I was close by for assistance cleaning off the dresser top (hot spot!) & washed the mirror :) when we were done he watched tv & I sat on the deck & read my book.
• So far I have gone over my 'b4 the company comes' list & checked the dresser top off & added a couple of easy things to it (for days I need something easy to do to show progress) its such a mind game :) & have banana mini muffins in the oven.
• Today I hope to get the flower blankets planted (I know!! get them down already!!), drag in the tote of 4th of July decorations from the garage & give the wood floor some attention.
• Tonight is Provider appreciation open house w/build our own sundaes YAY!! so I will be gone for a bit but I hope to finish the dining table & maybe a bedside table tonight! love watching that list get all scribbled up!

to trip or not to trip

THAT is the question! I have no helper today-Suzanna is having a spot on her foot looked @-I will have 8 @ max, its all planned, only one infant, no school kids, maybe we'll cancel the park/trolley trip & just walk a picnic to the elementary school instead.

• I checked a couple of htings off my 'do b4 company comes' list last night while Tim was mowing :) also did a couple of weekly jobs too.... I am of the mindset most of the time that if he's moving & working around the house I should be too. so until he's done mowing/cleaning the boat out/working on the bathroom I am doing SOMETHING productive that helps the house. Even if they are just little jobs like last night-water all in & outside plants, put away 3 baskets of laundry, top off the upstairs fish tank, pick up my scrap mess in living room from working on Stacia's book a month ago, & start cleaning off dining table that has become a hotspot. he may not have noticed or appreciated but it was done & *I* feel better.


• Kicking the perfectionist to the curb for a bit! I am done waiting on the tiller for the flower beds! I am going to put down the seed blankets while the flower beds are wet from last night's rain & cover them w/potting soil & BE DONE. check it off the 'do b4 company comes' list!


• I had high hopes of shredding last night but ended up enjoying a twisted tea while I was working around the house instead then there was no way I was working out. LOL


• I have a legal pad sheet w/my 'do b4 company comes' list on it. I love to do lists! keeps me on track! so I also have a smaller pad w/my weekly list on it. I just won't break it down to daily lists b/c that's way too overwhelming for me! plus I like an option of what & when...


• Bathroom update: the light fixture is hung, the switch plate is on, the walls are painted.. just waiting on shower valve to be mounted then I think we start tiling! EEK. another new frontier for us.

Welcome Back Friday!!

I have sure looked fwd to you this week!! it's been a doozy!! Personally I think I have earned you! :)

Last night we did ALOT -Tim ran to Leon to get his new Cell phone, I took Suzanna home, we went grocery shopping, delivered his mom's cell phone battery, McD's for quick supper, home to unload/sort groceries, Tim painted the bathroom walls & I did the corners, we packed/organized what wasn't done last week & we are ready to pull food from the fridge & freezer & run tonight! :)

The bathroom is ready for a light fixture to be hung & then tiling! SUPER EXCITING
Sunday we are hoping to come home to dry yard & w/enough energy to mow & till BUT I am not planning on it :)

I am sad to miss the Farmer's Market tomorrow but happy to get out of here, maybe I'll find out if Centerville has one. Just hoping for nice weather!!!

isn't it friday yet??

I am sooooooooooo tired again today :( not sure even caffeine will perk me up -THAT'S TIRED!

yesterday was alot of starts & stops!

1. I woke crabby=no blog post w/commentary LOL I just figured why spread it around??
2. I was prepared (looking fwd to even) taking this crabbiness out on 2 insurance issues I needed to take care of over the phone-neither one needed it so that was ok.
3. We headed outside for our walk, I locked the door behind me to find the key pad w/the key attached NOT in its spot to let myself back in to get what I forgot, trying to get to the back yard to come in the unlocked slider was useless as I couldn't get the gate open so Called Tim on my cell & the keypad was in the truck in the driveway YAY!!!
4. Our 2.5 hr walk went well
5. Lunch was late due to the long walk but they were happy w/popsicles while I figured something out.
6. I headed to Leon to get Tim a new cell phone right after work, to get a phone call 5 minutes down the road to tell me to turn around as their systems were down &no sales could take place. Instead had time to shower!
7. Attended visitation for a gma of a past cc family.
8. Home to change clothes to paint the ceiling. DONE!
9. In to read YAY!

staying close to home today! going to head out into the back yard no matter how muddy it is.
determined to make it thru another day.
